Unlocking your phone
A handset bought from a network provider is usually locked, meaning that SIM cards from alternative carriers will not be compatible with your device. Unlocking is the legal process of removing this bar so that you can enjoy other, perhaps better value services (that is us, by the way).
Old devices require unlocking codes that are only a Google search away. Later handsets require a little more know how. Here at Alpha, we recommend contacting your current provider - most major networks provide unlocking service charged at a standard fee.
Alternatively, there are also many high street and online retailers that provide this service.
Is unlocking legal?
With the added benefit of making your phone more flexible and valuable, unlocking your phone is completely legal.
What about my warranty?
The only drawback to having your phone unlocked would be the effect it’ll have on your warranty. Unfortunately, most major networks will void your warranty upon unlocking.
